A New Video Referencing Tom Golden’s Work

Good morning,

I received the above video today from Tom Golden via his Substack. Tom is a men’s advocate and grief counselor. I met him going through my own grieving process, healing from an attept to demolish my career for advocating for male survivors during the #metoo operation.

His friendship and public advocacy have been crucial to my ongoing growth and recovery, both personal and professional.

Tom’s message to the world is that men and women heal differently; we experience and move through grief differently. And how men experience their reality, inner and outer, is like some kind of occult secret. Male grief is concealed, said to be nonexistent, ridiculed and unrecognized for what it is.

‘Just the Way Things Are’

That men even feel pain is often denied by society, or blamed on men themselves (with the implicit message that men are inherently bad people and get what they deserve). The bias is so pervasive that men themselves almost always miss its existence or tally it up as “just the way things are.”

If anyone speaks about bias against men, they will inevitably be accused of misogyny (and they must know how to respond to that false claim).

In our current version of the world, the overwhelming proportion of both astrologers and therapists are women, and were trained mostly by other women. Astrology Student Union emerges as a public forum as the astrology community is still in the throes of the cancellation of one of its male elders, Steve Forrest, author of The Inner Sky.

There is a revolt against Steve’s cancellation from the elite astrology scene and many women object. Steve’s cancellation was reportedly validated and endorsed by one of the top female presenters at a conference that begins in two weeks (she has not responded to my repeated requests for comment, nor has one of the top professional organizations involved, NCGR).

Many women are furious about this, a fact that I find encouraging. And a few men are speaking up, but they rightly fear cancellation for even advocating for Steve.

Where are the Men?

I will return to that subject, which will be a topic of my on-scene coverage of the conference. Though I want to point out one thing: Astrology Student Union has had a healthy response by many wise and sincere women — yet only one man has even inquired about the program (and he has registered).

I know I reach readers who are men; I know many are aware of my advocacy for men and my questioning of all forms of gender and sexual bias.

Astrology Student Union is my latest effort to rise to the challenge of helping with the healing in an insane world where the sources of grief and loss never end. We will be learning from (among other teachers) the work of Tom Golden and also his colleague Paul Elam, who contributed a video to The Family Constellations Series.

We need male practitioners in astrology. We need men to teach the female practitioners how to work with men, through their experience.

We need astrology that is active in the community and that responds in a bold way to the current global crisis. We need astrology that balances the internal and the external worlds and is responsive to both.

We Are All Teachers

I will end below with a quote from one of my own articles, the one that allegedly caused so much trouble — sent as a postcard to the woman-dominated United Astrology Conference, after kicking one of its male elders to the curb.

A decade on, I would modify my idea: we need teachers who are both men and women, and who inform and educate one another. What I would not modify is that we are all teachers by example. If the Astrology Student Union had a building, over the door would be inscribed the words of A Course in Miracles: Everyone teaches, and teaches all the time.

Astrology is an amazing system in that it recognizes that all of us are made of a wide diversity of both masculine and feminine expressions (beginning with how we all have six masculine signs and six feminine signs; we all have the Moon and the Sun).

It is the ultimate gender-balanced system of thought. It would be excellent to see this reflected in the world.

Here is that allegedly misogynist quotation, based on the wisdom of Tantra:

In my theory of the universe, women, as the source of life, are the teachers. Whether one is right, wrong, or somewhere between, teaching happens by example. If men are being presumed to be in some way ignorant or in need of correction, it will presumably be women who do the teaching — and that will not happen with their words. It will be conveyed by women demonstrating what they believe is correct, through their actions.

Change of Weather

Dear Friend and Reader:

The planet is still vibrating with the effects of Wednesday’s total solar eclipse, the first truly dramatic eclipse visible from Europe since Aug. 11, 1999. If you were following the internet you were treated to all kinds of dramatic images; it was a big one and people traveled from all over the world to see it.

The path of totality crossed Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, northern Spain, a small corner of Portugal, and parts of the Atlantic Ocean.

In Christian Astrology, the first astrology book ever written in English, William Lilly said that if there has not been a solar eclipse in Leo for a while, there will be a change in the weather. This would take us back to a partial eclipse of the Sun in Leo, in 2018, but more notably, the Great American Eclipse that crossed the United States, coast-to-coast, on Aug. 21, 2017. And these Leo eclipses indeed indicated a change of climate — in particular, the psychic climate.

The United States went from men chanting “Her body, her choice!” in January 2017 to society pretending that all men are potential rapists in October 2017. How was that magic accomplished? Lawyers, publicists and Operation Mockingbird! But they succeeded in exploiting preexisting digital conditions and there was a massive change of the climate, at least in the United States. This was, of course, the first year of the Trump administration.

Learn Astrology in Real Time Through Direct Experience

Greetings everyone and happy eclipse!

It’s best to learn astrology in real life. Give it a job. Most study programs use an academic curriculum, with emphasis on theory.

This is not natural to astrology, which favors experiential learning. The academic, rules-based format is why it seems to take forever to get a handle. It can be much easier and more fun with other approaches to learning.

We are officially introducing the Astrology Student Union study and mentorship program. ASU takes a whole other approach to learning astrology than you may be accustomed to: co-teaching, supervised independent study, working on mundane news astrology cases in real time, and an emphasis on using Chiron as a practical tool in astrology counseling practice.

One of our guiding principles is that astrology is more art than science; and more about literacy than mysticism. Teaching will take place in a diversity of formats, beginning with live discussion groups, new presentations and prepared (previously existing) classes.

Extracurricular — Astrology Based on Experience and Discussion. Co-teaching. Inviting knowledge from other fields of practice, including therapy and homeopathy.

Astrology is best learned in an extracurricular environment — through active observation, participation, discussion and research. The chart offers a puzzle and a conversation, not a lecture on reality. The chart is your invitation to explore.

Where most astrology education falls short is its emphasis on theory rather than practice; and the need for balance between classical and modern approaches. That’s what we provide. We are concerned about the obsession with “psychological astrology” and prefer Humanistic Astrology, Mundane Astrology and Horary as well as Natal and Progressed astrology.

Supervised, collaborative reading and writing are essential elements of learning.

Astrology Student Union is based on the philosophy of John Dewey, whose educational theory was, “Give the students something to do, and they will learn from experience.” He believed in noncompetitive learning.

Astrology is Inherently Social

Astrology is not linear. It’s is circular and based on cycles. It’s not academic. It’s about observation of nature, events and people, learned through discovery and participation. We don’t need lectures and classes — we need mentors. Astrology is inherently social and embraces all facets of existence.

I will be the primary teacher, coordinating other teachers including those from disciplines outside of astrology.

‘This is our dream come true’, says conference coordinator Laura Kardashian

CHICAGO (AP) — The United Astrology Conference (UAC) today announced that Eric Francis Coppolino, author of the Planet Waves horoscope and host of Planet Waves FM on Pacifica Radio, will replace Steve Forrest as a presenter at the United Astrology Conference.

The conference went through a search process after Forrest made traif jokes about “eel gefilte fish” and “kosher ham and cheese sandwiches,” and was forced to step down. Several dozen astrologers recommended Coppolino as someone who had made a worthwhile contribution to astrology — and who had never been on the UAC faculty.

According to Ancestry.com, Coppolino is 15% Sephardic Jewish and was the perfect shoo-in for the speaking slot.

“He’s not too Jewish, he’s just right,” said Rob Hand, a founder of UAC. “Eel gefilte fish? Kosher ham and cheese? Coppolino would never say anything like that.”

Astrojournalism Makes the Bill

Coppolino will present on the theme of “Astrology as Journalism, from the Horoscope to the Sept. 11 Chart.”

“Journalism is the perfect form of expository writing to bring astrology to the people,” said Chiron pioneer Dale O’Brien. “It’s in plain talk, just like astrology should be. Eric has been the innovater in this field.”

Reached while vacationing on Alcyone, Barbara Hand Clow said, “I predicted this would happen back in 1995,” adding, “you really should read Eric’s book The Chironian, the best new book on Chiron to come out in decades.”

Al Morrison, reached in astrologer heaven, said, “Atta boy!”

“We thought he deserved a better place for the Planet Waves booth than the Marriott loading dock,” said Laura Kardashian, the UAC conference coordinator. “And we really didn’t want someone teaching astrology every morning at 8:30 am in the Harvest breakfast cafe,” she added.

‘I’ve Waited a Long Time for This’

Adam Elenbass, founder of Nightlight Astrology and longtime fan of Coppolino, said he was “thrilled to have Eric on the program,” but thought “he should be speaking about sex astrology.”

“Eric is the master of this topic. A reading he gave me while teaching at Nightlight in 2014 changed my life and set me free,” Elenbass said. “He untangled the complicated Gordian knots in my psyche and helped me liberate myself. Eric understands the 5th house, the 8th house and the 12th house like nobody else. And especially the 2nd. Eric is the walking, talking, photographing incarnation of the 2nd.”

Elenbass added: “Book of Blue is my favorite book. Eric will be back on the teaching roster of Nightlight Astrology for the spring session.”

Following ‘Fairness Doctrine’, Coppolino will Offer Alt-Keynote

In yet another shocking development, Coppolino will offer the first-ever “UAC Alt Keynote Speech.” This is following the long-forgotten “Fairness Doctrine in Astrology,” revered by the Conference Hotel Trade Association Communications Commission.

The official keynote speaker is Chani Nicholas, founder of Big Sister Astrology, the Big Sister astrology app and Bigger Sister fashion line of Watts and Reno. She will be announcing how the entire future will be reserved only for other lesbian sepratist feminists and their staunch allies.

The UAC board of directors voted unanimously to not have a bunch of “woke-ass jive” be the only viewpoint presented from the podium.

In a formal statement read at a hastily-convened press conference earlier today, the board said, “Yo! We thahnk him da greatest thahng ever. This boy is cold! Slap mah fro! Belaheve da hype. What it is, fer shure, Mama! It's all true. What it is, Mama!”

They added, “Respect!”

Coppolino will deliver a 25 minute message called “Take Off Your Mask” on the theme of astrologers giving medical advice.

“This is gonna be great,” said Rod Brezinsky, author of Free Pill Astrology, who will be a guest of honor at the conference. “I’ve needed to hear this for a long time.”

Howdy cousins,

The coming United Astrology Conference has officially banned Steve Forrest for saying the word “nigger” in a podcast about racial history with his black BBF, former NFL star Ricky Willliams present.

My contention is: 1) If Steve was racially offensive, it was Ricky’s job to say something. 2) This situation as it is unfolding is about sexual bias, not racial bias. The astrology “community” is sacrificing one of its most longstanding and respected father figures.

Until now, nobody in this “community of astrologers” has bothered to read the chart.

We (meaning Cindy) have found the time stamp for the upload — July 23, 2026 10:41:47 am PDT, Lila Astrology corporate office is in Venice, broadcast location likely Los Angeles, same degree ascendant.

In yesterday’s reading, linked below, I neglected to read the most important aspect: Sun square Chiron, which is the sigil of the wounded masculine.

I am calling for an open discussion about whether social bias or religiosity of any kind has a place in astrology.

I plan to continue the discussion on Sunday’s Planet Waves FM. It should go live by about 7 pm ET. I will have more detail about the mandatory review of presenter slides by UAC, their position on whether the press is invited, and how they are handling false accusations against male presenters.

But if you have the time and inclination, I go through all elements of the chart from a classical standpoint, then bring in many minor planets — except I neglected Sun square Chiron, the most important aspect.

This Just In…

A conference official said today there would be no press credentials issued to anyone at the upcoming United Astrology Conference (UAC) in September. There was a time when many reporters attended large astrology conferences like this. They are a break from boring routines and car shows, and provide writers the opportunity for interesting “gee whiz” coverage in local papers an even national wire services.

The rep said, “I spoke to Laura [Nalbandian]. She said there were no press passes available.”

Of course, she could make them available.

The conference said I was the only reporter to request credentials — and was turned down (which means I can’t get into the riveting lectures or see Chani Nicholas deliver her sure to be inspiring keynote speech).

In this podcast, I give my theory how this has has its roots in a 2003 incident at the NorWAC conference involving a discussion featuring Jeff Green of how astrologers should handle clients who are former priests who said they sexually abused young children: say it’s the kids’ karma; blame the kids — a position which Nalbandian defended. I guess she could not say, “Jeff, stop blaming kids and move on.” Meanwhile, Jeff Green’s youngest child was crawling around on the stage during this incident.

The Stevie the Florist N Word Controversy

This is all happening in the context of the Steve Forrest “N-word” controversy that has the enraptured attention of the astrological scene. Most astrologers are falling all over themselves trying to show how woke and progressive and sensitive and inclusive they are by being concerned about who Steve allegedly hurt. Steve’s BBF, his black best friend, was also a guest.

Most astrologers but not all. The comments on the second video below are encouraging.

Like most things in American society, this has already happened in South Park.

Hasn’t everything?

I will tell you more about my real beef with “Stevie the Florist” on Sunday’s Planet Waves FM. It involves an astrologer publicly giving medical advice, and routinely attacking people who refused to submit to the “covid” “vaccine” in 2021.

Meanwhile, Sam Bailey, a medical doctor, is facing disciplinary charges and has been “debanked” for saying that the “covid” PCR test was not scientifically valid. She is right; it is not.

Wise Guy Tony Fauci and the Aquarius Full Moon

Omerta: The Sicilian Law of Silence, Planet Waves FM from last Sunday — about the mobster Tony Fauci pleading the 5th Amendment 111 times during last week’s Full Moon. That’s what you do when your words may be used to criminally prosecute you. Here is Fauci revealing the marketing plans for “covid” in October 2019 — live and in plain sight on C-Span. He says they need a plan to convince people that the flu is as scary as AIDS or cancer. That plan was “covid.”

This program sorts out the “lab leak” versus “natural origins” false controversy that has stalked the covid issue since January 2020. If you’re wondering what this is about, just listen to this issue and it will all make sense.

August 6 — Venus enters Libra – Venus has learned Virgo’s tough lessons of precision and perfectionism and is ready to beautify its own home in Libra. The more airy and mental qualities of Venus are emphasized here, including ideals of harmony, symmetry, aesthetic beauty and diplomacy.

August 9 — Mercury enters Leo — Finally leaving the emotional waters of Cancer, Mercury appreciates the speed it can gain in fiery Leo and is certainly ready to have some fun here. But first, it will encounter a brief opposition with Pluto, which could be a few days of more ponderous thinking. Mercury’s individualistic streak could be harnessed by Pluto’s collective (or technocratic) concerns and communication may feel weighty and carry greater consequences.

August 10 — Venus opposite Neptune (and trine Uranus and Pluto) — Venus newly in Libra immediately enters into the pattern that’s re-making our world. Venus loves a little push from Neptune and with the harmonious aspects from the other outer planets, this is potentially a very creative combination. Keep your art supplies at close hand and notice any tendencies to get caught in the Neptunian fogs. If you notice this happening, the creative spark may be just the flame to light.

August 11 — Mars enters Cancer concurrently with Ceres — Fiery Mars has a difficult time in the big water of Cancer, but it also loves the challenge. There are quite a few high-performance athletes with Mars in Cancer natally. Perhaps the highest expression is to use the Martian drive, determination and spirit in service to Life. Conjunct Ceres, this emphasizes the Cancerian themes of mothers, the matrilineal line and nourishment. Mars can be a great although sometimes difficult ally here for this summer’s big family themes. Upon entering Cancer, Mars is immediately applying to a square with Neptune, so some caution is advised, especially around the use of intoxicating substances.

August 12 — New Moon (total solar) eclipse in Leo at 1:37pm EDT at 21 degrees Leo. This is an interesting solar eclipse in the sign of the Sun, which has the effect of condensing and quickening patterns that are already developing and for planting the seeds of new ones. Venus and Mercury are activating the outer planets (see above), with Chiron loosely involved. The dominance of fire and air in this chart feels like a combustible substance coursing through the structure of a student’s science project. What have you been building to contain and channel this kind of energy? This is potentially a lot of fun and looks like an engineer’s dream, but take the proper precautions. Chiron is barely holding the tension from Taurus to remind us to keep ourselves grounded in the physical world.

Eclipses Return to the Leo/Aquarius Axis

Dear Friend and Reader:

Today’s horoscope is an extended reading for August, focused on the total solar eclipse on Wednesday, Aug. 12. In another set of readings, I will focus on the Pisces lunar eclipse that takes place Friday, August 28.

These condensed readings address the first solar eclipse in Leo since the summer of 2017. Many social upheavals followed that event (think back to what was going on for you, and in the world). It was a time of significant instability, described mostly by the conjunction of Uranus and Eris (when the digital world started to swallow the physical world). We are now in the full strength reality that astrology predicted.

Think of Leo solar eclipses as being about climate change. They alter long-standing patterns, of both planetary weather and psychic conditions. The Sun and Leo hold a special place at the center of astrology and the center of our solar system.

So that hawk photo is shocking! I rarely take shocking photos. This was a collaboration.

I got to this exhibit last, on Sunday morning, while they were setting up and no birds were visible. Only the Asian chick got my joke, “Do you have pigeons here?” I kept saying things and she kept laughing.

I came back half an hour later…and the birds were out…

I left my cameras on the table where they could see them. Then after a lot of discussion with their handlers, I met them one at a time and told them how gorgeous they are and got to know them and studied them for a while and let them feel my vibe. I was deliberately taking it slow and letting them get to know me a little.

Finally the crow invited me to photograph him. A real badass. Who could make ANY sound.

Then I moved onto the big owl…this bird had the MOST interesting vibe I’ve ever felt in an animal…this hum of cool clairvoyance…unbelievable to be that close to it. My inner Skunk was loving it. This creature is entirely on its own wavelength, like from a separate cosmos inserted into our own…almost invisible to humans…they sit so still and are so perfectly camouflaged.

I asked what the call was and I recognized it…this is the owl sound I hear pretty much all the time…there are one or more who live right near me in the little patch of woods right by my fireplace. Their presence is ubiquitous…

Then I took some photos of the hawk. Holy fuck. What a handsome creature.

We were all vibing with one another!!!!

Then the little one, a tiny owl; I don’t know a lot about these creatures but I said, I bet this guy makes a loud sound — and his handler said, yeah. He’s a screech owl! like…maybe five inches tall.

The screech was all puffed up in his little nook, trying to be intimidating, upset by the barking of crated dogs 200 feet away.

As promised in last night’s Starcast, the video above has a visual description of the Aquarius Full Moon that takes place Wednesday morning eastern time. The video is set as “instant premier,” so if you want to watch from the beginning, scroll the progress bar to the left until you see the countdown.

I look at two patterns — the way the Jupiter-Pluto opposition is under the light of the Full Moon, and then also the Venus square Mars pattern with Nessus involved.

At left is the President of the United States and her Secret Service Agent. This deserves a comment. The President looks exceedingly vibrant and healthy; and I would take a goat as my security guard long before any of the wannabes who currently populate the USSS.

The forthcoming Full Moon is a rather vibrant event, as it makes the Jupiter-Pluto opposition personal by bringing in the luminaries — the Moon and the Sun. I also talk about the square between Uranus and the hypothetical Transpluto (which is different from the other 8 hypotheticals I usually talk about and mostly leave out of this edition).
